Wendy
Lewis works from her studio in the garden of her ancient thatched cottage
in a village in Buckinghamshire. The cottage was once part of Anne Boleyn's
wedding dowry to King Henry V III. Plants and wildlife proliferate there because
nothing is used to spoil the balance of nature surrounding the studio.
Currently she is working on a new book about optimism and hope for children.
Wendy's concerns,
through her work, revolve around topical environmental subject matter. The
books and pictures that she produces are about hope for our Planet.
"Children should be optimistic about the future," she says. Her
latest book enables children to become empowered by actively participating
and demonstrably helping. Through a lot of imagination and a little practical
help they succeed in becoming influential in effecting change by turning around
a gloomy situation into something optimistic.
Wendy's work is full of joy and exuberance and the care that she feels for
our planet really shines through.
Children and adults alike are elevated to feel the hope that is imparted through her positive work which is full of enchantment and wonderment. The work and ideas transcending the ordinary and mundane. Wendy's sincerity was felt and expressed by some recent visitors to her studio, they wrote: "Full of mystery and imagination", "Emotionally evocative", "Very inspiring and wonderful" "Highly distinctive work", "Absolutely enchanting" and "fantastic creation of words and pictures". " The work is imbued with an energy of Love and Light".
Her work is appreciated and collected by people who really do feel for a transformation and wish to share some of this new, hoped for, vision to restore our vulnerable and fragile planet.
